"45" - a poem

Make movement for millennia.

Hello loves, another day, another newsletter offering. This is SO fun for me!

Community Corner:

I’m so glad you’re here.

One of you shared with me after my last post that reading the newsletter “really inspires me to pull the trigger on my own writing.”

YES! yes, yes! You have beautiful, beautiful things in you that only you can create and thus only YOU can share with the world!

I can’t wait to hear more about what wants to come out in you!

Creativity is such a HUGE part of LYHLing (living your healthiest life). Creating and then sharing is the flow. I think both need to happen. Do you agree?

Today, I’ve decided to share my first poem with our LYHL Community. The following arose as I reflected on life on (or near) my most recent birthday:

Open up, open up.

Be fully human.

It's what 45 years has taught me.

*

We need to be able to sit alone.

And we need to be able to sit together.

Co-mingled.

*

You is weird

Because you is unique.

Be not afraid.

*

Dance, laugh, cry, explore.

Take part in the miracle.

You are miracle.

*

I wonder what we can make together

when love is our siren call...

I bet wars would stop.

*

Beauty is essential.

To be named &. witnessed.

To be called forth from the void.

*

You impact me.

I impact you.

What will our impact be?

*

Nothing is promised.

Everything is a gift.

Life is precious, tread lightly.

*

Make movement for millennia.

Protect & plant sequoias.

Sometimes fires are necessary.

*

Fear is information.

But not a container,

unless you let it be.

*

Your expression of love &

justice is unique.

Start with the easy & small &

find your way from there.

*

Giving up is within the fear constraints.

Hope is a choice &

practice.

*

Practice with beauty, with art,

with nature, with community,

with rest.

*

Rest is holy.

Holy is essential.

The miracles, the blessings are all around.

*

Your emotions will pass.

Feel & observe with curiosity.

The way past is through.

*

Smiles matter

and eye contact too.

Dance parties & hugs help.

Thanks for reading my poem. See you next newsletter (unless you reach out sooner).

Any thoughts?

May you always see the blessing, beloveds.
